The successful defense of positions by the 41st Mechanized Brigade in the Kursk region was made possible through the effective use of various types of unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to combat action analysis, the brigade employed a comprehensive approach to drone usage: FPV drones for precision strikes on equipment, drones with dropped ammunition for personnel engagement, and drones with thermal imaging cameras for reconnaissance.
The use of thermal imaging drones to detect Russian infantry in forested areas proved particularly effective. This allowed Ukrainian soldiers to track enemy movements and direct strike drones against them.
Coordination between different types of drones and ground units ensured high effectiveness of defensive actions. Russian assault groups suffered losses even before approaching Ukrainian positions.
The use of drones also allowed minimizing the brigade's own losses, as most of the work of detecting and destroying the enemy was performed remotely.
